The village is to be commended on its very tidy and attractive appearance, with a commendable absence of litter throughout the village. Every opportunity is made to provide community planting, with some excellent displays and very attractively painted wooden planters in various locations. The approach to the village benefits from some very attractive new signs.

The attractiveness of the village is enhanced by some colourful planting at the front of many properties, with some very good examples to be found at 16 and 22 Hillside, 25,35,67, and 76 King’s Road, 1 and 3 Windsor Way, 34, 42, 53, 79 and 87 Victoria Road, 30 and 58 St Barnabas Road, 1, 10, 16, 28 and 31 Woodland View, 7 Willow Grove, 6 Oak Grove, 20 Sycamore Close, 29 Queen’s Road, 8 and Fairview on Marsh Road, 1,28 and 32 Silver Street and 8, 21, 37 and 38 Railway Street.

There was also attractive floral displays outside many properties on Walker’s Close and outside the Medical Centre. The verges and hedges throughout the village were well-tended and there were a number of useful noticeboards around the village.

The excellent playground on Silver Street is set in a large playing field. The area benefits from a good range of equipment and an attractive area for younger children.

The war memorial on St Barnabas Road is an attractive Celtic cross but the site would benefit from attention. The area around St Barnabas Church is a particularly attractive feature of the village with some excellent planting

North Lincolnshire Residents Panel

Be part of the conversation – join the North Lincolnshire Residents’ Panel

Residents in North Lincolnshire can now register their interest in joining the ‘Residents’ Panel’ to have their say on living in the area.

The online panel is due to launch in early 2020 and will be made up of local people who the council will contact to get a better understanding of residents’ views on local issues.

Panel members will be sent regular surveys asking for views on a range of topics. Members will be regularly updated on how the results are being used to shape and improve local services.

Around 1,500 people will be recruited from across North Lincolnshire to join the consultative body of local people. Members will help identify priorities and shape future developments.

The panel members, who will be periodically refreshed, will be invited to take part in a rolling programme of research and consultation including regular surveys, focus groups and workshops.

To register your interest in joining the Residents’ Panel, go to www.northlincs.gov.uk/residentspanel.

Anybody who is aged 16 or above and lives in North Lincolnshire can apply to join the panel.
To ensure that the panel is representative of North Lincolnshire’s diverse population, acceptance onto the panel is not automatic. People will be contacted in early 2020 to let them know if they have been accepted or not. Anyone who is not accepted will be added to a reserve list.
